10/10, I'm typically not for the "Misunderstanding" type of stories, but this is masterfully written and had me enjoying every moment. There were so many twist and turns that I could never guess what was next.

I love this book. Probably one of the funniest books i've ever read because of the amount of misunderstandings in the entirety of it. Give it a read, you won't be disappointed (unless you're one of those trashy book-enjoyers).

This is superbly written. The translation is top notch as well. This is misunderstandings and over-thinking the novel. It's clear that this story was written to fit almost cleanly into the Cthulhu mythos, and having even a passing familiarity with that will enhance your reading experience (and somewhat spoil where the story goes if you link MC to the correct mythos story). However, if you hate stories that resolve the big misunderstanding quickly give this one a pass. The misunderstanding ARE the point of this story, enjoy them, pick through them, SAVOR them. Let yourself be edged, it's worth it for the climax ;)

Full of missunderstanding, plot twist, and tentacular demonic creatures, this novel scared and disgusted me with its detailled descriptions as much as it made me laugh, wonder and dream about a strange world, filled with mysteries, with a strange black haired bookstore owner, playing with fate, giving advices to those who needs it the most.

All the misunderstandings coupled with the characters admiring Lin Jie makes this comedy novel superb. The author really created a masterpiece. Please read this novel.

I loved this novel. Good comedy and excellent plot. It has a few ups and downs, but that doesn't mean it's not a gem. The ending is both predictable and unexpected in a way.

A very good read from beginning to the end. Very good pacing of the story and the ending in my opinion is perfect. There isn't many novel that are written like this, give it a try.

This is a very good novel. The humor and seriousness are very well distributed in the story, I ve been dying laughing a lot while reading this as it is very very fun. And if you love lovecraftian/eldritch universe you will love it For the people wondering when it's getting "serious" just enjoy the read and it will be serious when the time comes

Loved this story from beginning to end. The author slowly gives you snippets of what is really happening and the ending feels just right! 10/10 will read again

I've read this first through the Manhua, last year I think with 80 something chapters, then proceeded to read the novel as I can't wait to see what comes next. However I stop reading around chapter 150+ after seeing that it's still not complete. Now I continued to read it last week and finally able to finished it today. Honestly I feel like the ending was a bit rushed? There were many things that I was looking forward. But overall it was good journey with Boss Lin, I will miss you, my heart feels a little heavy right now cause this really stirred my heart similar to what happened to Klien, hay. 10/10- I'm not stingy when it comes to good novels such as this, even though the ending was not my liking, it was still within my expectations and it end well for me. Good luck to my next journey. 😆✋
