First of all, it doesn't deserve this low rating in my view, so from 4 * I wanted to give I rated it 5*. It was a wild ride and I enjoyed it all the way, there are no issues with the novel, except for a somewhat rushed ending, BUT here the novel sometimes lacks the last phrase of the chapter (I tried to put all in the chapters comment section but I may have missed some) and in the last pages there are more missing lines. . Also, here the novel stops short of the last chapters, so probably it explains the low star vote. But I recommend you this novel.

I enjoyed the first 600-700 chapters; but after that it was hard to keep reading. For instance, the repetitive battles with the same antagonist became tedious over 50+ chapters, and the inclusion of numerous love interests felt forced and illogical. The story could have been more concise and impactful by eliminating unnecessary subplots and filler content. I believe the novel could have been effectively concluded within 1000 chapters with a more focused narrative.

despite having an obviously rushed ending. The rest of the story is simply excellent. One of the best books you will find on this site and without a doubt with the best battle scenes and battlefields. In other stories the battlefields are very brief. Here is a military story with war as the main focus and battlefields that you certainly will not get bored. Definitely worth it There are more chapters besides 1507. For some reason they were not posted on this site.

I’m only writing this review to help balance out the 1 stars because this is easily one of my top 10 favorite web novels and I’ve read something like 250+ or so over the last 8 years, and ive dropped a lot due to the story quality dropping, entering dumb repetitive loops, stupid power scaling, protag only thinking with wiener, or my personal pet peeve…the author dropping off the face of the earth and the novel entering limbo. Now with a frame of reference of where I’m judging this story from out of the way…if you dont like these elements here you can avoid the novel now. I won’t spoil much by informing you of these traits: -Suffering MC -Weak to strong -Can still lose while strong -Monogamous MC -Well fleshed out races -Betrayal (not by his wifey) -Gradual strengthening -Face slapping -Guns -protag is not an *ssh*l*, psycho, etc. hes fairly reasonable -magic -unique path to power -forces of “light and dark” are both well fleshed out and protag interacts with both frequently -Has a decent moral compass -There IS a cockroach antagonist (and they do get random power ups for NO reason) Id personally rate this novel 4. 25/5 stars, I intentionally wont say more to avoid spoiling stuff but hopefully this gave you enough reason TO read or AVOID based on your personal preferences folks. Have fun and happy reading 🫡😉

This novel is for perverted masochists. The writing, world-building, and characters are well-developed, but the protagonist and his fiancée are constantly abused, manipulated, and mistreated by other characters, most often by their own people. Additionally, there are very important characters who are extremely hypocritical. The main character is basically like a submissive slave who easily accepts all this, degrading himself and his fiancée. It's the most irritating and annoying thing I've ever read.

Ok, so this novel was a waste of my time. I am overwhelmingly disappointed by how the novel turned out, all the other reviews make it sound so great, but other than the okay grammar, I find every other aspect of this novel lousy. The Mc is like a punching bag with zero brain cells, despite the original premise, it always falls to the typical Chinese cultivation tropes, and then the constant loop of interactions. 😤👎

Really good story with a varied set of characters well fleshed out in a troubled land filled with warring "races" trying to outmaneuver their neighbors for benefits or just survival. The story is simple enough at start but gets more complicated (even sometimes needlessly so with all the Chinese style political stuff that makes it more strange than deep and interesting). For me this novel's fight scenes are really well written, I mean you get a good mix of planning, cunning and simple to understand and well described abilities or moves from the characters with even their "personalities" taken into account. The romance is heartwarming, heartbreaking, annoying and even disappointing with all the problems the MC seems to have but it's all fine to me as that's how it's supposed to be (even if I wish our Ye could be less of a simp but hey that's his charm I guess). I highly recommend this story for the depth of the power system, the action and the well written interactions between the diverse cast of characters that can be simple, strong, nice, devious or everything at once (yes Zining, I'm talking about you). The political stuff, I really didn't like and thought was a chore, the backstabbing or selfishness was annoying after a while (even if believable considering people are selfish a. . holes) and really I wish the MC was less "nice" at some points even if that would probably end up changing the whole story overall it was still one of my favorites.

To be honest, I was very excited when I first started this novel. The world building, the different races and their relationships with each other and the dark atmosphere was very impressive. But after 300 chapters I was very disappointed, there were too many young masters and face slapping scenes in the novel and I started to get tired of these clichés. Although MC's journey to power is well planned, the young geniuses who can defeat him are not properly explained why they are so powerful, so MC's defeats start to seem very stupid. Sexy female characters with anla eyes and dragon eyes kept popping up. This novel had great potential, but as far as I can see, the author focuses too much on the stereotypical Chinese clichéd style and it wastes the potential of this novel.

Highly recommended series. But, it has a lot of dark elements. So, the age restriction is probably in need. First, I love the dark elements of this series because the author can make the MC look like a villain in a world that is already very dark. The setting is great. And the notion of guns as weapons is refreshingly new in CN.

You like it so you put 3 stars?

Best novel I’ve read so far. And one of the first. You will never get bored reading it as well as especially brutal. I will say though that there is a point in this novel that seems like fan service when they travel to the separate dimension but keep reading, you’ll learn that it isn’t so bright as it seems and has a dark sub plot to why they did what they did to him
The last 2 significant love interests, which bear him children, and the quiet mention that the Li and Ji clans will leave with the sun, and the fact that the Ye lady is his mother, but nothing (dialogue) came out of it, strengthen my believe that this ending is not actually what the author had in mind, and it was somehow forced on him.
