One of my favorite novels, I was in the 4000s reading raws back during COVID and started rereading again. The author definitely has his way with words and humor, but also likes to incessently yap. Parts of it are definitely repetitive but the main arcs and payoffs are really good, both for satisfaction and the feels. Also some are calling it cliche, but you have to realize that this novel is literally one of the OGs, like MGA or Martial Peak. It was released in 2015 and the author has been grinding since then, so it's not that the starting chapters (which are admittedly slow until the 100s) are sterotypical, but that this was one of the series that defined these stereotypes.

After reading Outside of Time and coming back to this - The face slapping thing was really put into perspective. Outside of times face slapping was great because there are 2 great cultivators outmaneuvering each other. This novels plot is forced to be a faceslapping one because the MC is stupid therefore pushed in a bad situation and the enemy is even stupider… If you like smart cultivators then youll probably never get satisfaction from this book. But if you are a teen ager who likes getting off on angry emotions because someone has wronged the MC then you will have enough anger to push through 5000 chapters because getting angry is the only thing the book will give you because MC cant make strategical choices that doesnt force him into a knee.

This is one of my favorite novels but not because its a master piece, but because to me, it's the best kill time ever. It makes me laugh, makes me miss the side characters and cheer when they come back, makes me hype some power ups and the main story line is pretty lenghty and consistent, so even after chapter 5500 you're still uncovering misteries. But in the end it got the same problems as any average chinese novels. If you want a average/good read for killing some time with a few chapters a day, it's for you. If you don't, give a shot and drop when you feel tired of it, it will be worth.

If you love action-heavy cultivation novels with an OP but hardworking MC, large-scale battles, and a loyal brotherhood, Nine Star Hegemon Body Art is worth reading. However, expect repetitive storytelling, basic villains, and weaker romance elements. Would I recommend it? Yes, if you enjoy classic xianxia power fantasy with lots of fights and an unyielding protagonist.

I'm fully caught up with the english chaps (all 5000+ chaps) and I can definitely say that this novel gets VERY repetitive very quickly, and can be a turn-off for many readers. However, once the MC goes past his original world, the story gets a lot better and more engaging. The word building is excellent, and there's never a shortage of comedy or anything like that. Not a big fan of the romance part as it feels pretty forced sometimes, but they're also important characters to other parts of the story as well so its ok. It was first cultivation novel I read, and overall I still really enjoyed it. If you have the time, I'd definitely recommend.

I've only read a few chapters, but unfortunately this formula is no longer interesting for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure this novel has many great chapters, but I've had my fill. Let me tell you what I'm talking about with a little analogy. In Shadow slave, Sunless climbs a mountain while chasing a giant monster behind him to awaken his talent, Fang Yuan spends his days drinking wine in the forest to cultivate properly and loses all his reputation to find what he's looking for; in this novel, the main character gets everything he's looking for in a few chapters, MC gets very critical things at the beginning without paying any price. It's like a Minecraft player who is born next to a village and gets all the equipment he needs from the starting chest. I would only recommend this novel to people who have not read any other novel in a similar genre, I am sure they will enjoy it a lot and it will even become their favorite novel, but for me it is just "another Chinese novel". At chapter 550 ish right now, love it! Protagonist isn't as lonely as in most cultivation novels, at least right now. I am Guo Ran's biggest fan.

Currently at Ch 3600+ and all i could say is this has been a journey reading this. After reading this for about 3 months where i almost dropped it multiple times its now in top3 of all cultivation novels/comics i have read so far. The best thing i would say is the side characters that have equally important roles and are not sidelined unlike other novels which makes for a fun and sometimes sad ride. Romance is well done not so much at the start but as it goes on and emotions are unfurled it gets alot better and apart for 2 or 3 relationship that seem forced others are quite well developed. MC's character is duality where sometimes he is a cool crazy killing machine but other times can be hard to deal with due to his personality. And the elephant in the room which is the sheer quantity of chs clearly shows that there is lot of repetition of plot but each time feels lot better than past one and has uniqueness to it.

Wish I could find more Novel like this. . . I will always love it. The same I can say for Martial Peak. All over this novel keeps me hyped, no matter how many chaps I still love it.

Just a typical cultivation novel involving cultivation, resource hunting and face slapping. But what makes it deserve 5 Stars is, first, obviously is the protagonist, Long Chen. His unbridled personality and slick tongue even in front of absolute experts makes the read enjoyable and funny. Second, is obviously the other characters(not his brothers and lovers, but those characters which are less significant to the stories). Their reaction and words towards MC's talent is quite natural, filled with slight jealousy but no ill-will. It makes it more real. Also, the tid bit smaller details in the novel regarding cultivation world also makes it unique and also tells us that there are all kinds of people and organization, not only bad and selfish(like the huayun sect, which accepts all disciple disregarding their cultivation talent).
